Guide to Agent Actions

Last Updated: Apr 13, 2015 12:32PM EDT

Send an email

Enter the recipient's email address and click Add. You may repeat this step to continue entering more recipients.

Next, you'll need to determine how frequently you want to receive these email notifications. By default, we'll deliver an email every time the rule is activated; however, you can opt to compile all of these notifications into an hourly, daily or weekly digest. (This alternative may be ideal for notifications that you expect to receive at a high volume.)

By default, Agent generates smart, dynamic notifications that provide info based on the details in your rule. For example, a notification that is delivered every time an event sells 500 tickets will automatically inform the recipient about the event and the quantity sold.

You can also customize these messages using the editor in this step. Buttons featured allow you to stylize and emphasize certain text or include tokens, which will be automatically replaced with the relevant details. (As an example, instead of [Event Name], the recipient will see the actual name of the event.)

Send a text message

Enter the recipient's phone number and click Add. You may repeat this step to continue entering more recipients.

By default, Agent generates smart, dynamic notifications that provide info based on the details in your rule. For example, a notification that is delivered every time an event sells 500 tickets will automatically inform the recipient about the event and the quantity sold.

You can also customize these messages using the editor in this step. The buttons featured here allow you to include tokens, which will be automatically replaced with the relevant details. (For example, instead of [Event Name], the recipient will see the actual name of the event.)

We recommend writing short, succinct custom text message notifications that remain under 160 characters.

Send a push notification to the Live mobile app (iOS only)

By default, this Agent action will display all of the users on your account.

First, select the person who needs to receive this push notification. (Please note: Currently, Agent works through our real-time analytics app, Live, to deliver push notifications. You will need to download and install Live using the same user account in order to receive these notifications.)

By default, Agent generates smart, dynamic notifications that provide info based on the details in your rule. For example, a notification that is delivered every time an event sells 500 tickets will briefly and automatically inform the recipient about the event and the quantity sold.

If you want to edit this message, click the Customize Message button in this section. Enter information in the Title field to determine what displays on your phone when the notification is activated. You can also edit the more detailed information that will be displayed when you access the notification in Live. For both sections, the buttons featured here allow you to include tokens, which will be automatically replaced with the relevant details. (For example, instead of [Event Name], the recipient will see the actual name of the event.)

This action relies on the Twitter account you have previously connected to your ShowClix account, which is the @ name displayed here. (For more information, check out this guide on Managing Social Connections.)

By default, Agent generates smart, dynamic notifications that provide info based on the details in your rule. For example, a tweet sent when 90% of your tickets have sold for a particular event will mention that 90% of the tickets have been sold for that event.

If you want to edit the tweet, enter information in the Twitter Post field. The buttons featured here allow you to include tokens, which will be automatically replaced with the relevant details. (For example, instead of [Event Name], the recipient will see the actual name of the event.)

Please note that the tokens and character count only provide an estimation to determine how long your posted tweet will be. Tweets over 140 characters will be truncated.

Adjust a price level

First, you will need to select an event and price level. Click Select Price Level and click your preferred event. Next, in the prompt that appears to display that event's price levels, click the checkbox for the appropriate price level and then click Make Selection.

Finally, enter the newly adjusted price for the online checkout price and the box office price if applicable.
